Are you looking to experience theater at the highest level during the performance of a lifetime?

The opportunity is right here in Mission Valley this weekend, as the California Youth Conservatory (CYC) has announced its newest production, 13 The Musical.

Playing every day between this Friday, June 20th, and Sunday, June 29, this exciting new high-voltage comedy serves up a story about growing pains, teen traumas, and somehow surviving the hell that is middle school. Made all the more entertaining with a pop/rock score by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (whose work includes Parade, The Last Five Years, and Bridges of Madison County), this knee-slappin’, grin-givin’, laugh-out-loud musical has just about everything middle school has to offer- and more.

Evan Goldberg, one of the cool kids from New York City, is suddenly forced to move to a small midwestern town after his parents’ split. With his Bar Mitzvah just around the corner, he realizes fitting in is harder than he remembers, as he tries to make friends and get through all the changes of adolescence in a whole new world.

Voted the “Best Theatre Group” on the San Diego A-List for the past three years, the CYC has done it again with San Diego’s super talented all-teen cast that offers an in-depth look at the hectic life that is 13 years old, expertly navigating through the many ups- and downs- of  entering the teenage years.

Don’t miss out on the flirting, cell phones, cheerleaders, gossip, first kisses, cliques, boyfriend-thievery, bullies, and heartthrob crushes in this critically-acclaimed ‘grown up musical about growing up.’

So bring out your family this weekend and watch a performance for the ages!

Show time is at 7 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. PDT.
